Our Commission
The Governor’s Advisory Commission on National Service and Volunteerism is a bipartisan, Governor-appointed body that provides guidance and oversight for national service and volunteerism efforts in Arkansas. Commissioners are appointed to multi-year terms by the Governor and represent diverse sectors, including education, nonprofit organizations, business, government, and community-based organizations.
The Commission works to identify community needs, establish funding and program priorities, ensure the responsible stewardship of national service resources, and promote civic engagement statewide. In alignment with AmeriCorps requirements, the Commission supports the development of programs and partnerships that strengthen communities and expand opportunities for service.
Next Commission Meeting | November 12-13, 2026 at 10 a.m. | Little Rock
The Commission meets quarterly, and meeting dates, agendas, and materials are made available to the public. For more information or to connect with the Commission, please contact Engage Arkansas.
In July 2026, Governor Sanders appointed 15 commissioners to the Governor’s Advisory Commission on National Service and Volunteerism. We are pleased to welcome these individuals to the Commission and look forward to sharing additional information about their backgrounds and service.
